Tasmanian-born, global-roaming photographer Justin Cooper is known internationally for his haunting, alluring images. With bases in Sydney, New York and Paris Justin’s work across a spectrum of industries – including fashion, beauty, advertising and personal – is distinguished the connection he creates between his camera and his subject. As he says: “I prefer to the sitter to be passive to the camera or caught in its gaze,” using the face as a tool for narration.

Having studied art and commercial photography at RMIT University and later at the College of Fine Art, Sydney, and with international campaigns and lauded editorials to his name, Justin remains at the forefront of photography, fusing traditional techniques drawn from his background in film with contemporary practice.

His editorial client list includes Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire and Manuscript, while his advertising campaigns include Lee, Jigsaw, Elle Macpherson, L’Oreal, Clarins, Sephora and Biotherm.
